South Land Park: A Great Place to Live!
South Land Park is a tree-lined, established, desirable, and multicultural neighborhood located a few miles south of downtown Sacramento. With origins in the 1950s and 1960s as a residential and suburban extension of Sacramento, South Land Park now offers its residents a community of neighborhood parks and schools, unique ranch-style and midcentury modern architecture, and one of the safest neighborhoods in Sacramento. The residents of South Land Park are proud of their quiet and safe streets, well-maintained properties, and their close community. According to Sacramento Police, it has one of the lowest crime rates in the city.
We hope you will take some time to get to know our community, join our association, and get involved as an active part of our neighborhood.

2017 Annual Members Meeting on March 29
Over 100 people attended our Annual Neighborhood Meeting on March 29, 2017 at Pony Express Elementary. Presentations were made by local elected officials, police authorities, neighborhood school representatives, and SLPNA board members. Updates were given on the city's Del Rio Trail project. Board elections were held, and various items affecting the residents and neighborhoods of South Land Park were discussed. Residents expressed their views and concerns regarding these matters and asked questions to the presenters.
Rail to Trail: We Support the Del Rio Trail
SLPNA is strongly supporting the Del Rio Trail project. This 4.5 mile long stretch of abandoned rail line runs through the heart of South Land Park, from the Zoo to roughly Pocket Rd at Freeport Blvd. Neighborhood surveys show 83% support from residents, businesses, and schools.

Application for Marijuana Cultivation on Freeport Blvd. in S. Land Park (NEW!)
An application has been submitted to convert a vacant school at 6400 Freeport Blvd into a marijuana cultivation operation.

Florin West Center (Bel Air grocery store on Florin Rd near I-5)
A proposal has been submitted to the City to make numerous improvements to the building facades and landscaping in the Florin West Center. The retail buildings are home to a Bel Air grocery store, Round Table Pizza, Rosalinda's Restaurant, and several other businesses that serve South Land Park, Z'Berg Park, and Greenhaven neighborhoods. The proposal also calls for construction of two new retail buildings that would include a drive thru coffee shop or restaurant, and other retail shops.
SLPNA provided comments to the City in November 2016. The developer is making adjustments to the plan and it will be scheduled for review by the Planning Commission in 2017. View the original proposal by clicking below (note: drawings are on pages 30-36).
New Gas Station / Car Wash on Freeport Blvd
A proposal has been submitted to build an AM/PM gas station/car wash at the corner of Freeport Blvd. and Blair Avenue, across from the entrance to the Executive Airport. The proposal includes an application to sell beer/wine, and have multiple vacuums as part of the car wash. Click here to view the application, preliminary drawings, etc.
SLPNA polled our membership and found general support for the gas station/market and car wash. However, half of the respondents indicated they may want limitations on the hours for wine and beer sales. The board sent comments to the City in September 2016.
New Raleys/Shops on Freeport Blvd
Raleys is proposing to close its aging store on Freeport Blvd. and build a new supermarket a block north of the current location (at the site of the former Capital Nursery.) The 10 acre site will also include several buildings to house new retail shops.
The City Council approved the project on Nov. 22, 2016.
